My name is Armando Juarez and I am the Spanish speaking Pastor at Horizon Community Church in Tualatin Oregon. I am writing this testimony regarding Glenn Lancaster a great man, father, husband and great friend to many and servant in our church and our community. I have known Glenn and his wonderful wife for the past 13 years. I got the honor of meeting Glenn and his wife in our church. Horizon Church was about to start a Spanish speaking service and we did not have a guitar and base player. Anna, Glenn’s wife is a very talented woman and she knows how to play many musical instruments. Anna decided with the support of her husband Glenn that she would come and be part of our worship team in the new church. When we started the Spanish speaking service Anna was to come for a few months and serve but after a few months, these turned into years and now it has turned into 13 years. I’ve had the honor of developing a very special relationship with Glenn and his wife Anna over the years and Glenn has become a very important part of our lives and our church and also in our community. Glenn and his wife Anna have been instrumental to our church. Their contribution has helped the development and growth of this church. I believe that without Glenn and His wife Anna and their family, I can honestly say, this church would not be the same. Glenn and Anna have become a very important part of the community as well. They have helped hundreds of underprivileged parishioners, spiritually and financially. Every year they donate money that goes toward the purchase of food, shoes, toys, clothes, rent, utility bills and other basic needs. I have observed Glenn for years and I admire the way he carries himself, the way he loves his gran children and his wonderful wife and our Spanish speaking church. Almost every Sunday Glenn walks into the church with his granddaughter in hand. And it fills our hearts with so much joy to see this man love his family and also us that we have become his family as well. Glenn and Anna have become great examples to other men and women of how a different language or ethnicity is not a factor or excuse when it comes to loving, serving and providing for other people from different backgrounds. They are positive example for other couples within the church community and the community at large. Many people have come to admire and respect them in our church, which is evident every time Glenn and his wife walk in to the church-you can’t help but smile! Their presence fills our hearts with joy as they consistently portray their love and commitment for each other. Our Hispanic community in our church love them not just for what they give financially but also the way they give of themselves. You see them both hugging, encouraging and loving people that hardly speak English. It is such a joy to see this because more than ever we need this kind of men, women and marriages in our country that are willing to take the time from our lives and just smile and love people. I am very exited to see what God has in stored for Glenn and his family. My prayer is that you, my hermano, amigo Glenn, will continue pursuing your hearts desire to serve and love the city you live in. Thank you Glenn for all that you have done in my life, in our church and our community.
