I have had the privilege to know Glenn and his lovely wife for about five years. We met through a group that has a mutual interest in politics, history and the responsibility of government. Having lived in the Wilsonville area for a number of years I lamented to Glenn my sadness to see once beautifully maintained orchards and hay fields plowed under and replaced with high density housing. We both realize that Oregon, and Wilsonville specifically, is growing, and growing up. Wilsonville is playing a large role in the economic well being of Oregon, changing from an agrarian base to a technology and retail base. The importance of managing this growth is of key importance as once the die is cast it won’t be changed for generations. Glenn’s concept of Slow, Smart Growth hit home with me, especially in this time of economic stress. Glenn’s business background, practical solution attitude and easy demeanor makes him a great choice for working with the Mayors of West Linn, Oregon City and Milwaukie as well as Clackamas County Commissioners in fighting the Department of Transportation plan to toll (tax) the local interstates we all use regularly. This problem is not insurmountable and Glenn’s years of living on the ‘other’ coast has uniquely prepared him for understanding the pro’s or con’s of tolling roads and bridges. Thank you Glenn for your friendship, and willingness to serve all the residents of Wilsonville. I look forward to seeing a steady hand on the tiller, steering Wilsonville toward a place where I can love where I live.
